Interesting facts about industry in WGC
WGC is well-known as the town where breakfast cereals Shredded Wheat and Shreddies were made at the former Nabisco factory (now part of Nestle). This ended with the company moving production to Staverton Wiltshire in 2008.
WGC was once also home to the head offices of Fine Fare (now part of Somerfield) and the chemicals giant ICI (now the Shire Park site)

A parking enforcement company operating on Hadleigh Road Industrial Estate in Ipswich, Suffolk has been accused of highway robbery after fining drivers over £250 a minute.
A courier, David Wood, had only left his van for less than five minutes, when he was ordered to pay over £1,180 on the spot.
In just one morning City Watch, the parking enforcement company, immobilised many cars and vans on the small industrial estate, charging fees estimated at more than £5,000.

A new bicycle delivery service has launched in Cardiff – proving
transporting goods by two wheels isn't a luxury reserved for the Danish.
Big Blue Bike, the brainchild of 26-year-old Ben Allen, aims to give companies
an environmentally friendly option for transporting cargo around the city
Allen also hopes to capitalise on the needs for businesses to find cheaper and
quicker options following the recession and travel disruptions in the city
centre.

Japan Post Service Co. is lagging on parcel deliveries because the merger of
its delivery operations with Nippon Express Co. last week has overwhelmed it
with packages
Around 66,000 of the roughly 950,000 parcels originally scheduled for delivery
by the end of Sunday were delayed by between half a day and two days, the
company said
"Employees' lack of familiarity (with the new operations) was the biggest
cause"
