City Link has decided to fit 50 of its vans with security cameras with an aim to achieving a 100% incident-free delivery service.
The cameras will work while the vehicle is both attended and unattended, acting as a deterrent to anyone who might be tempted to tamper with the van or its cargo.
The live system can be viewed from the firm's central control room.
The investment comes after a number of east London-based City Link employees were last week sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court for stealing thousands of pounds worth of cargo.

Zero-tolerance parking enforcement was yesterday described by professional
drivers as a farce .
Cardiff City Council's heavy handed aproach to parking is causing difficulties
for delivery drivers on Greyfriars Road
The drivers say there is not enough loading bays allocated to collection and
delivery vehicles.
The council say they acknowledge that it is still necessary for businesses to
be able to park in the city for loading and unloading and there is sufficient
space allocated for this purpose.
But drivers say that is not the case and they are still being ticketed there by
the council’s over enthusiastic “traffic enforcement officers”,
who are speedy and prolific at handing out tickets.

A parking enforcement company operating on Hadleigh Road Industrial Estate in
Ipswich, Suffolk has been accused of highway robbery after fining drivers over
£250 a minute.
A courier, David Wood, had only left his van for less than five minutes, when
he was ordered to pay over £1,180 on the spot.
In just one morning City Watch, the parking enforcement company, immobilised
many cars and vans on the small industrial estate, charging fees estimated at
more than £5,000.

A new bicycle delivery service has launched in Cardiff – proving
transporting goods by two wheels isn't a luxury reserved for the Danish.
Big Blue Bike, the brainchild of 26-year-old Ben Allen, aims to give companies
an environmentally friendly option for transporting cargo around the city
Allen also hopes to capitalise on the needs for businesses to find cheaper and
quicker options following the recession and travel disruptions in the city
centre.
